Although I'm usually not that much impacted by jet lag, the next morning I woke up very early and decided to snap a few pics of the hotel's most crowded areas.
But not without a first pit stop at the coffee station.

The Garden Bar.

The (fortified) Coffee Bar.

Georgie from the inside.

Georgie seen from the Canon Gardens.

Time for breakfast!

First an egg white frittata...

...followed by a waffle.

For the drive to Santa Monica I opted for the turquoise Lambo...

... as it would be a perfect match for my beach house.

Santa Monica pedestrian zone.

Santa Monica palm tree.

The famous Pier.

We had lunch at Ivy at the Shore. The food was good and the company quite interesting, as we sat next to a party of eight that included Candice Bergen.

Crab cakes.

Shrimp tacos.

Lobster pasta.

Apple crumble.

Nice floral display.

After lunch we rented a bike and rode along the beach.

Santa Monica's finest: Shutters on the beach...

...and its little brother, Casa del Mar.

Captain America on his day off.

Traffic, SoCal style.

American icon.

Random act with no meaning, also known as modern art.

Lucky charm.

We also rode through colorful Venice Beach.

I'd like a pepperoni pizza and a nipple piercing to go please.

Nothing but promises.

Fortunately I was able to confess my sinful thoughts at this place.
But wait, Jews do not really confess, I'm not even a Jew and it's Shabbat anyway. Nevermind, it's the intention that counts.

Prime beachfront real estate.

I was looking for Pamela but I found David instead...

In the evening we had dinner at Mozza, a place that had been recommended to me by a friend. It was unbelievably busy and the noise level accordingly, but the food was good.

Some mozza crostini to start.

A bit of pasta.

And a duck as main.

Conclusion: So long La La Land. It was fun to see you again as always, but now I'm ready for the big Hawaiian adventure.
