That's a tough route to clear. On at least one trip I cleared at the gate just before boarding commenced and was the only EXP to clear the list. One thing you have not indicated is what your elite status is with AA and that will surely have a bearing on your placement on the upgrade list. If you're not EXP, chances may not be very good and with your flight some 9 months away there's no telling how full it might be come departure.
