We are certainly monitoring the number of seats already occupied in J and in MCE, to measure the competition that we may face for J. So my question is essentially whether or not any of the flights above was, historically, easier to clear a SWU on compared to the others. It came as a surprise, for example, that there are apparently 2 flights out of CLT. Is the market so busy?
Unfortunately, as of today, upgrades are "not available" on any of the flights above. So would you say it is likely that a SWU is going to clear at the gate, if at all?
As an EXP flying TATL on Dec. 24, any SWU request is VERY likely to clear at least a week before the flight. Normal paid business travel is virtually non-existent over Christmas week (especially on Xmas eve). AA just hasn't gotten around to releasing any upgrades yet, which isn't surprising. Where exactly are you trying to fly to/from? I'd just pick the option with the most MCE and J open as of now and go with it.
