Well, what did you (try to) guarantee it with?
"CC' stands for credit card, not debit card.
Hotels often need to authorize way bigger an amount than just the room rate on a card, and thus some hotels do not accept debit cards for reservations, only at checkout.
If they did not run a
credit card authorization, you're probably
not guaranteed.
