But in the sense of counting the number of cards you've opened in the past 24 months, if you've opened a Hyatt card in the past 24 months, Chase certainly does count it.

So your only chance with the CSR (for the next 16 months or so, until the first of those cards you applied for this year rolls off) is:

1. If you go to a branch and it shows you're pre-approved for the CSR. (I don't know what the chances of that are.)

2. If you're one of those people for whom exactly 5 is OK, as opposed to one of those people for whom exactly 5 is not OK. (I know of no way to determine whether you are or not except by trying.)

3. If you set up Chase Private Client perhaps. (I've seen this mentioned in passing, but I don't know the details.)
