Surprisingly for the southeast, I don't encounter that issue here very often. Yes, there are the restaurants at the beach that cater primarily to the tourist trade. They feature the "seafood platter" with everything battered and fried. But the places we frequent usually offer a choice of blackened, grilled or bronzed.
C'mon down for some fresh scallops, grouper, snapper, cobia, sheepshead (my dinner choice last night), pompano, etc.
