Thanks to meecal's above post, Mrs J & I also walked into an out of state Chase branch across the street from our hotel today to apply in person since there isn't one near home and because we are each closer to 35/24 than 5/24. Somehow she was prequalified for the CSR at the branch but I was not and neither of us were prequalified online when I checked earlier today. The banker had her sign a form accepting the APR and other terms. I asked if he had already submitted the app. He said yes and she was already approved, but then said oh wait. We'll receive a decision in the mail in 7-10 days, but not to worry the prequals always get approved in his experience. Uh huh!

Anyway after checking her call-in app status I received the 30 day message, and then realized I should've lowered that ridiculous $24K credit line on that dumb IHG card a couple months ago. Hopefully they'll just reallocate that line to approve a new CSR since she was prequalified. We'll see!
