I actually LIKE having live TV on the aircraft, for similar reasons others have mentioned, live news & live sports. It's one of the reasons I fly B6. I can't believe UA charges for it though. I always carry a slim sleep mask in my laptop bag in case I ever have difficulty dozing off.
