I think the property didn't understand your request. Maybe they think you want to add an extra day? That $99 fee seems odd.

All my early check-ins have been free with one 5 hours before official check-in time due to a early morning flight. I've also had Nor1 early check-in offers for $15-20 and that was for a 8:00 am arrival if available.
