My Budget travel tips:
1 - After you book a hotel, re-check the website periodically, if prices drop, cancel and re-book at the lower rate (assuming you didn't book a non-refundable rate).
2 - Check hotel prices before choosing travel dates and booking flights. In some cities, notably Las Vegas, the cost of hotel rooms can fluctuate from $25 one night to $250 the next, depending on weekend vs. weekday and when major events are in town.
3 - Book a room that includes breakfast and then eat enough to hold you over until dinner.
4 - Mini-vacations - cram as much as you can into 3-4 days instead of booking for a whole week.
5 - All inclusive resorts can be a steal if you book last minute and live near a major airport. It's not everyone's style but you don't have to worry about many added expenses once you get there.

Agreed. Plus you don't have to book both directions with the same airline. So, if you find a cheap outbound flight but the return portion is expensive, check to see if it is cheaper to return with another carrier.
