I'm guessing #1. I clear security (Nexus lane) in YVR C pier on a biweekly basis. If it takes me 5 minutes, I consider that unusually slow. It generally takes no more than 10 min from curb to gate, including the time it takes to deviate and print a BP at a kiosk prior to security.

YYZ, YOW, YYC and YEG are far worse IME. In YOW some of them don't even know how to operate the scanners properly.
