Ate at brother Jimmy's in '94-96
Was good for a northside place. And that it was northern style (dry not saucy). But I am not a conno-suer and like meat in many different manners. At the time they had places in NYC and one location in some weird tropical Island. I still have a tee-shirt. I used to go there with NC basketball fans who raved about the food.
BUT, Sweet willieHave you been to "RIBS n BIBS" on the South side? (Hyde Park). This is an Epic 'que place. Only can get food to go. Need to pass money through bulletproof window but don't let that scare you. On 53rd street south. Their food was a staple of my diet when I lived in Hyde Park. The place kept burning down but has been a south side tradition (like Harold's fried Chicken) FOREVER. I would suggest you try here instead of going out to the 'burbs, I mean, c'mon, what kind of 'que is in 847?
Also there was a very good restaurant, I cannot remember the name, in the Kimbark shopping center, just off of Lake Park and the 47th street exit off of LSD, that had a very good thing going when I was there. Darn, can't remember their name...but they were just coming on line and doing it well. Not sure about their 'que but they did good cajun.
Good luck! Keep reporting back!
