I have diamond status under a challenge (not the same as a match I know, but definitely not via 25/50). I converted my two nights to 40K earlier this year without issue. Best I can tell diamond is diamond is diamond.
I would definitely call and ask HGP before the nights expire though (you can't actually convert to points until *after expiration* - and then must do within 30 or so days).
