I am not surprised with LAX. United is already small out there since the merger. UA used to use wide bodies to most of Hawaii and had a larger presence to Australia and Japan. Now they are using uncomfortable 787s and 737s where they used to use 747s, 777s, 767s, and 757s, plus had a robust regional network out of LAX. United Airlines out of LAX used to provide a much more premium experience with 3 classes of service. Since merging with PMCO and downgrading service many loyal LAX based travelers have moved from United to American.
