I just had a schedule change on DCA-ORD-NRT-SGN and I'm considering asking for a reroute through DFW.
Between AA175 and AA61 (the 1035 and 1310 departures on the date in question, respectively), both show fairly open J cabins and very open (2-4 seats taken) in the front of Y. Schedule-wise, I'd prefer the later flight, and neither is showing C availability.
But does anybody have any general insight as to which flight would be easier to upgrade Y>J using a SWU?

Since I didn't get an immediate reply here, I decided to bite the bullet and go for the later flight (AA61), which fits my schedule a little better, even though the upgrade odds looked B+ rather than A-.
When I called, the AAgent booked me on the flights I wanted, and then confirmed my upgrade (SWU had already cleared on the now-impossible original itinerary) on DCA-DFW and DFW-NRT, even though C was not available. I didn't even have to HUCA. Woo-hoo!
