+1, some airline limit the frequency of matches, so match now and not make use will limit your ability to match in the future when really needed.
Additionally, some airlines charge a fee for a match or challenge.
As a general rule many *A airlines will not match an existing *A elite. Not completely universal but common.
Some non-airline "matches" to consider are using your UA status to get
Marriott Gold status and
Hertz President's Circle
