My understanding is that most seats on the 789 have 31" pitch with 30" pitch being used for rows 18-29 HJK due to presence of the lav in front of door 3R. 36 out of 247 Y seats is hardly "mostly".
(Not implying that AC's Y on the 787 is spacious mind you.)
There are many more 30" pitch seats. The last few ABC rows of seats in the front Y cabin are 30", and most of the ABC/HJK rows in the rear Y cabin are also 30". Most of the DEG Y seats seem to be 31".
