However, my company travel reservation system advised me of such changes. I was able to get better connections for both trips by calling the EXP desk.
I've seen a number of references on FT that suggest AA send notification of changes about 30 days prior to the flight as opposed to when the changes occurs (there was a major schedule change impacting the roughly August 23 through October 5 last night).
Remember: always check your future itineraries for changes on Sunday/Monday every week, don't wait for AA to notify.
