While it is nice to receive points for F/B purchases when not staying at select Marriott properties, you still don't receive points for F/B purchases when actually staying at about 75% of Marriott's portfolio, including Ritz-Carlton and Edition. That needs to change.
That is why the experiment is being tried by Marriott at the DC area properties already referenced. Marriott is learning...obviously due to looking at SPG numbers on the subject and trying to bring the MR and SPG programs a but more in line with each other in anticipation for the eventual 2018 merged program.
