[Visa Information] Jordan (JO)

Visa required.

 Visa Exemptions:
- Nationals of Jordan.
- Nationals of Bahrain, Kuwait, Lebanon, Oman, Qatar, Saudi
  Arabia, Turkey and United Arab Emirates for a maximum stay
  of 3 months. (SEE NOTE 66919) (SEE NOTE 66922) 
    NOTE 66919: This does not apply to passengers with an
   emergency passport. 
    NOTE 66922: This does not apply to passengers with a
   temporary passport. 
- Nationals of Egypt for a maximum stay of 1 month. (SEE NOTE
  66919) 
    NOTE 66919: This does not apply to passengers with an
   emergency passport. 
- Passengers with  The Palestinian Authority  passport for a
  maximum stay of 1 month. (SEE NOTE 60664) 
    NOTE 60664: Not applicable to passengers whose passport
   number starts with 00. They must obtain a visa prior to
   travel.
- Passengers with a diplomatic passport; 
 - This does not apply to nationals of Iraq and Myanmar.
- Passengers with a residence permit issued by Jordan if their
  stay outside Jordan does not exceed 6 months. (SEE NOTE
  55469) 
    NOTE 55469: This does not apply to nationals of Libya,
   Syria and Yemen. 
- Nationals of Libya, Syria and Yemen with a residence permit
  issued by Jordan. The residence permit must be valid for a
  minimum of 6 months from the arrival date. 
- Nationals of Libya, Syria and Yemen with a residence permit
  issued by GCC Member States [[TIRGL/GCC]]. The residence
  permit must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the
  arrival date. 
- Nationals of Libya, Syria and Yemen with a residence permit
  issued by Switzerland or EEA Member States [[TIRGL/EEA]] .
  The residence permit must be valid for a minimum of 6 months
  from the arrival date. 
- Nationals of Libya, Syria and Yemen with a Permanent
  Resident or Resident Alien Card (Form I-551) issued by the
  USA. The residence permit must be valid for a minimum of 6
  months from the arrival date. 
- Nationals of Libya, Syria and Yemen with a residence permit
  issued by Australia, Canada and Japan. The residence permit
  must be valid for a minimum of 6 months from the arrival
  date. 
- Passengers with a "Laissez-Passer" issued by the United
  Nations and a prior approval issued by the Jordanian
  Ministry of Interior. 

 TWOV (Transit Without Visa):
- Holders of onward tickets for a max. transit [[TIRULES/R32]] 
  time of 48 hours. 

 Merchant Seamen:
- Merchant Seamen arriving by air in order to board a ship, or
  if arriving by ship in order to board an aircraft must
  travel on duty and hold a Letter of Employment or Letter of
  Guarantee of the shipping company. 
- Visa is not required for Merchant Seamen if their
  nationality is mentioned under visa exemptions applicable to
  normal passport holders.
- Merchant Seamen who can transit without a visa when the
  continuing journey is to a third country by same or first
  connecting aircraft within:
  - 6 hours without leaving the airport;
  - 6 to 24 hours: Merchant Seamen must leave the airport. 
  Seaman Book or passport must be left at the immigration
  desk. Ticket with reserved seat and documents for onward
  journey required. 

 Crew Members:
- Same regulations as for passengers apply.
 - Nationals of Iraq being crew members on duty are visa
   exempt.

 Military:
- Visa not required for US military members and Department of
  Defense (DoD) personnel if holding a US Military ID card
  (i.e.CAC card) and a travel order. 

 Visa Issuance:
- Nationals of Algeria, Japan and South Africa can obtain a
  visa on arrival for a max. stay of 30 days. Free of charge.
  Extension possible. (SEE NOTE 56126)
    NOTE 56126: Not applicable to holders of emergency or
   temporary passports, who must obtain a visa prior to
   travel.
- Passengers with a Hong Kong (SAR China) passport can obtain
  a visa on arrival for a max. stay of 30 days. Free of
  charge. Extension possible. 
- Nationals of Morocco can obtain a visa on arrival for a max.
  stay of 30 days. Free of charge. Extension possible. (SEE
  NOTE 56126)
 - Females between the age of 17 and 35 years of age require
   prior approval obtained from the Ministry of Interior,
   except if:
   - accompanied by their husband, father or brother; or 
   - being a member of an official delegation; or
   - being the daughter of high ranking personnel. 
    NOTE 56126: Not applicable to holders of emergency or
   temporary passports, who must obtain a visa prior to
   travel.
- Holders of normal passports issued to nationals of Sri Lanka
  traveling on business (or as an official delegate) can
  obtain visa on arrival, for a max. stay of 2 months,
  provided:
  - traveling on Royal Jordanian (RJ); and
  - holding hotel reservation in a 3 to 5 star hotel; and
  - holding official documents confirming business or official
  delegate status. 
  Fee: JOD 40.-. 
- Nationals of Iraq with a normal passport can obtain a visa
  on arrival if holding:
  - an official "Businessmen card" issued by Jordan; or 
  - an official letter for a delegate, confirming the
  attendance to a conference or workshop. 
- Nationals of Iraq with a normal passport can obtain a visa
  on arrival if holding permanent residence permit issued by a
  country whose nationals can obtain a visa on arrival other
  than Lebanon, Libya, Syria or Yemen.
- Nationals of Iraq with a diplomatic or service passport can
  obtain a visa on arrival. (SEE NOTE 54943)
    NOTE 54943: Visa on arrival fees:
   - JOD 40.- for stay of max. 2 months and single entry;
   - JOD 60.- valid for 3 months and two entries;
   - JOD 120.- valid for 6 months and multiple entries.
- Holders of normal passports issued to nationals of India
  traveling as tourist, can obtain a visa on arrival for a
  max. stay of 2 weeks, provided:
  - holding a return/onward ticket, pre-paid hotel reservation
  and at least USD 1000.-.  
  or
  - holding a return/onward ticket and at least USD 2000.-
  Fee: JOD 40.- applies. 
- Nationals of any country can obtain a single entry visa on

  Belize, Benin, Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia,
  Cameroon, Central African Rep., Chad, Colombia, Comoros,
  Congo, Congo (Dem. Rep.), Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, Djibouti,
  Equatorial Guinea, Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana,
  Guinea-Bissau, Guinea, Iran, Kenya, Lao People's Dem. Rep.,
  Lebanon, Liberia, Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Moldova
  (Rep.), Mongolia, Mozambique, Myanmar, Namibia, Nepal,

- Nationals of any country can obtain a visa free of charge,
  provided 
  
  - passenger travels as part of a tour arranged by a licensed
  Jordanian tourist or travel agency; and
  - group is not less than 5 persons; and
  - staying a minimum of 2 nights in Jordan; and

  New Guinea, Philippines, Senegal, Sierra Leone, Somalia,

  Uganda and Zambia holding a valid Resident Permit and
  Re-entry permit issued by Bahrain, Kuwait, Oman, Qatar,
  Saudi Arabia or the United Arab Emirates can obtain a single
  entry visa on arrival for a max. stay of 2 months. Fee: JOD

    NOTE 56126: Not applicable to holders of emergency or

- Holders of consular, diplomatic, official, service and
  special passports, issued to nationals of Myanmar can obtain
  a visa on arrival for a max. stay of 30 days.
- Accompanying staff (housemaids, drivers), traveling with
  their employer, can obtain a visa on arrival for a max. stay

- Holders of an Interpol passport can obtain a visa on
  arrival, provided traveling on duty and the Interpol office
  in Amman has been notified prior to arrival.

 Additional Information:
- Holders of travel documents issued stateless persons and
  refugees issued by Libya are also required to hold security
  approval, obtained prior to their arrival in Jordan.
- Holders of a "Laissez-Passer" must hold a prior approval
  issued by the Jordanian Ministry of Interior.
- Passengers transiting Amman (AMM) to Aqaba (AQJ) must
  complete their entry formalities upon arrival at AMM.
- Passengers with  The Palestinian Authority  passports may
  continue overland to the Palestinian Territory.

 Warning:
- Visitors not holding return/onward tickets could be refused
  entry.
 - Exempt are government workers continuing to Iraq.
- Nationals of Syria must hold return/onward tickets.
- Female nationals of Morocco and Tunisia must hold
  return/onward tickets.
- Holders of normal passports issued to nationals of
  Afghanistan, Albania, Angola, Bangladesh, Belize, Benin,
  Botswana, Burkina Faso, Burundi, Cambodia, Cameroon, Central
  African Rep., Chad, Colombia, Comoros, Congo, Congo (Dem.
  Rep.), Cote d'Ivoire, Cuba, Djibouti, Equatorial Guinea,
  Eritrea, Ethiopia, Gabon, Gambia, Ghana, Guinea-Bissau,
  Guinea, Iran, Iraq, Kenya, Lao People's Dem. Rep., Liberia,
  Madagascar, Mali, Mauritania, Moldova (Rep.), Mongolia,
