I'll be tagging onto this NBO-DBX-NBO as I live in Nairobi. Will this cause any issue? Will I be able to check baggage from NBO-MEL and KUL-NBO or not as they are ticketed separately? Hopefully will also be booked with QF points.

It shouldn't be a problem tagging the luggage. However, just ensure you give yourself plenty of time to connect. If your original NBO-DXB is badly delayed, you'd be screwed if you only had a short connection - EK would be under no obligation to rebook you.
If it were me, I'd aim to have a night in Dubai beforehand.
