Well they do count a flight as minimum of 500 miles, so you could try for repeating their shortest route 2,000 times!
The boost-to-500 bonuses actually don't count towards MM status either.
EDIT: I actually just did the math and found out that, yes, the under-500 bonuses do count towards MM. Which is a little counterintuitive (though not unwelcome) given the "bonus miles don't count" language used by AS.
