If you kept Qantas (no "u") FF can you earn as many points given the class of service, etc. with QFF as you can miles (not to mention EQ Miles and status) with AA AAdvantage? And you might not have to start from deep scratch - with those kinds of flights you could fly a Challenge and end up with
oneworld Sapphire / AAdvantage Platinum (QFF Gold) after flying a round trip to EXE in Business (one way if you drag it out to something like ORD-JFK-DFW-EXE so it's over 6,250 flown miles, you earn 12,500 EQM) and earn more miles, etc.
