Trans-atlantic flight. Myself (PM) and one companion on separate PNRs.

Called up Delta, requested a complimentary upgrade for my companion.

Delta rep responded with "INTL policies have changed starting 5/16. You can still get free C+ upgrade due to status, but companions need to pay full amount. We can only offer free upgrades to C+ on INTL flights to the primary medallion member now."

That feels strange, as I can't find it anywhere in the FAQ for C+

Is this just an agent making stuff up?
