I'm not surprised that I'm getting an inferior product on the second segment of my trip. That's pretty typical when you book with miles (Alaska). It would have been highly unusual to get both flight segments in a flagship cabin.
It has nothing to do with miles, only on the route: DXB-CAI gets one of the few remaining old products. Most of the fleet has F suites, just a few of the short turnaround destinations get the oldest planes.
