Two recent stays (hotel hopping for stay credits) and both times I've convinced different front desk agents to remove the resort fee. I did however get the line of "new management, more strict, just this once, etc."
First stay, I was offered the choice of points or breakfast. (but still got the points despite choosing breakfast) Second stay I was offered both. I was also offered a suite upgrade (for the first time in 10+ stays here as Plat) although it wasn't ready yet at 1 p.m. I couldn't be bothered to wait since I barely spend time in my room while in Vegas, although I was curious to see what the suites are like here.
For some reason the front desk can't issue breakfast vouchers, so they are slid under the door later.
