The second part of your post definitely belongs there. HNL fares, while I don't remember from CDG precisely, come and go from different european cities, including DUB, AMS, OSL, FRA, MUC, MAD (among those that I remeber from the top of my head).
But the first part doesn't, and that is what the thread was started on the basis of, so what's your problem? The thread title starts "ex CDG to USA (incl HNL) for €1440/£1100" and you've picked one airport in the title to complain about which is baffling.
Other people have found it useful, just because you haven't doesn't mean the thread doesn't add value.
