Actually you lose more than the 15% discount as the points on star alliance award are not the same as the SQ table.

All booked as star alliance award - 75K (Y) or 110K (C)

One way, online, SQ, SIN-CPT + one way SQ, JNB-SIN - 42.5K (Y) or 76.5K (J).

Seems best to book as two separate oneway awards for the online discount and then book CPT/JNB sector on a paid commercial fare.
