Hi all, I have a question and I apologize if it's a bit dumb.
I was thinking about possibly applying for NEXUS as I have a long-term boyfriend in Canada (I'm American) and want to make crossing the border a little easier in the future. If they ask for the reason I am applying for NEXUS, is it okay to say this, or is a relationship a red flag/insufficient reason? Our plan for being together in the future is to apply for common-law sponsorship to Canada after cohabiting for a year (6 months + extension). As that is still a little ways from happening, we can only visit each other right now, and I want to avoid border hassle as much as possible. Any opinions?
I was living in Canada. Mrs. shuuy in USA. She got her GE for the exact same reason.
No issue (and wasn't ever asked) - of course it was clear she wouldn't move (i.e., come into Canada and stay past the allowed time) - as she owned a house, car and had a job in the US.
