I had an old AA mastercard from 2013 that was converted to a World Elite Platinum Select Mastercard. Unfortunately I closed it in November before applying for another card, I read the Wiki and it appears that closing that card might not affect me getting points for another card if I apply for a personal one. Under terms and condition on the application page:
American Airlines AAdvantage® bonus miles are not available if you have had a Citi® / AAdvantage® Platinum Select® MasterCard® card opened or closed in the past 18 months.
So, you are not eligible to get the miles, but can give it a shot. My guess is, you have about 25% chance of getting the miles.
