Speaking just for myself, I don't have a lot of trust in UA and if I'm going to need to apply for missing credit (admittedly, think this is once in the past 12 months, though it was on a non-complex itin that shouldn't have been any issue) I want to do it right after the flight. I'm probably going to be on another plane in a couple of days and would like to put the past behind me!
