Cabin crew, including the leader, cannot be expected to know anything about this. It was pointless to ask them. You need to go to an OZ agent (or *A or a transfer desk for whatever handling agent OZ uses at SIN) in the SIN airport. Airport agents have lots of flexibility (and obligation) to rebook in response to disruptions on the day of travel.
I once had a ticketing issue with OZ in SIN and tried to find somebody at Changi Airport who worked for them - it was impossible to find anybody land side outside of the hours when their flights were departing. My bet is that by the time OP arrived late at SIN, there was nobody at the OZ ticketing counters to help.
