Par. 10.2.3 is troublesome though. OZ can just refund me the ticket and say "good-bye" to avoid paying for next segments. I dunno if they can refund me United miles, but if they can, I can be screwed.
But they didn't offer
any of the three options. They are not permitted to just abandon you.
Most carriers accept their rebooking obligation simply as a matter of course, so this was a really unfortunate experience.
I suspect you will have a very difficult time getting OZ to accept responsibility or provide any compensation.
