The system is doing what "it thinks is right"
because it sees a non-status/lower status passenger but that's not how it should work because you both were originally on a single reservation carrying your 1k status. This has happened with goalie-parents when goalie-dad was a 1k (and also now as gold) and a simple phone call to reservations fixed it
