From the time I was about 6, it was my job to help Dad polish the silver. Every year the weekend before Thanksgiving we'd polish the whole lot of it, a task which took about 5 hours. I was quite glad my mother left the tea service to my nephew. I have very little silver, preferring Lenox, Delft and various Bavarian porcelains.
