On both airlines, the Economy experience is even more miserable than usual on 777/787 aircraft due to airlines squeezing an extra seat per row. Airbus configuration does not allow the same, so the seat width is noticeably more comfortable.
I found the EY 787 in Economy to be an excellent product. Especially for single travellers, the headrest system is great and I've never seen it before. Plus, IFE on the 787 is really top notch. Also, leg room as a tall traveller is absolutely fine. And unless you're a really really wide person, I didn't found the seat to be too narrow. But I'm fine with 3-4-3 on the EK 777 too, so your experience may vary.
