What Prospero is suggesting is changing your current award ticket to a different award ticket. Perhaps semantics, perhaps not.
The OP is asking whether it is possible to travel in a higher class than he/she has booked. If you don't know the answer then that's fine, perhaps it is best to leave it to others that do.
Thanks for your interpretation/mind reading Prospero. As I said, we actually don't know what the OP was asking other than if he can "upgrade direct with BA"?

Is it possible to upgrade an award ticket? No. Is it possible to rebook an award ticket in a higher class based on the standard award chart and availability? Yes. In good faith, I believe those to be two different questions. You may be right that the OP was asking the latter question, but your insulting language is not justified, especially since BA itself says: "Avios upgrades are not available on reward flights."

If there is something wrong in my comment, please identify it. Either way, please treat me with respect or at least common courtesy.

As a senior moderator, you should be ashamed of such venom, which serves as a poor example to the community.

And I agree that Avios experts would be best to answer this question. However the OP disregarded the sticky about where posts belong, and instead posted this in the general information desk, and it remains there despite my alerting of moderators right after it was posted.
