I experienced Lite Bites for the first time last night on an 8:10pm flight to Boston and was happy to have something. I've been flying late DFW-ORD and DCA-DFW flights that just get the nuts and cookies after 8pm.
You mentioned DFW - ORD, at least during meal time they serve meals on that route. For a little longer flight from DFW - MKE, you get NOTHING! AA is inconsistent and when you do get food it is awful anyway.
