Where an item is made is of no relevance to Customs. They want to know where it was purchased, or why it is coming into the United States (even if it is for the second time).

Actually, if it was made it the USA, where it was purchased has no consequence.

Customs wants to know what customs duty to add to an item. If the item was made in the USA, there is no customs duty assciated with the item.

By the way, the broker cost me $175 and there was no customs duty owed.
