Not expecting to keep the GPU but more like an acknowledgment of the mistake and some gesture for the inconvenience.
It's totally random. One person reported being given a free GPU by United's Twitter team after complaining that a flight attendant didn't know to offer a free drink for being a 1K seated in coach.
