GPU extension error - worth complaining?

I started this year w/ 2 GPUs that were going to expire end 1/31/2016.

Since I requalified for 1k and GS in 2016, I decided to book an int'l flight EWR-LHR for late March, and request an extension.

MP inexplicably extended the GPUs out to 1/31/2018. Based on my good fortune, I decided to push the flight out to June. However in making the change with the GS agent, the expiration date of the GPU's explicably flipped to 4/30/2016.

So now I'm forced to use some of my "new" GPUs to upgrade June flight.

Fortunately, I was able to take a screenshot and document this. When I called MP to complain all they would say was that it was due to an error, and they wouldn't honor the 1/2018 expiration.

I'm pretty pissed and am considering writing a letter to complain. Do you think it's worth it? Has this happened to anyone else?

Now I understand that carriers make mistakes, but when they do, I would expect them to either honor their commitment or at least find another way to make up for it. Especially with some of their most loyal flyers. What do you think? Am I being unreasonable?
