I don't agree - in some cases, the strikes have been announced less than a week before they happened. I had a colleague caught up in this just this past November. In his case it wasn't announced until the day before the flight that his flight would be cancelled and LH would not allow him to rebook until the flight was actually cancelled. The union didn't announce which fights would be affected until the day before they were scheduled to operate. It was a huge hassle.
