It's also worth noting that some charge cards from Amex come with an unlimited Priority Pass (dependant on your country of residence, see amex board in miles) which can turn out to be very good value on top of the other benefits.
For anyone who i) cannot always travel on the same airline to get status, ii) typically flies economy and iii) travels reasonably frequently, Priority Pass is a very good programme.
