It's about the potential for a room upgrade. Due to some BRG craziness that took hours to sort out on my end, my buddy and I are now booked in a king, and hopefully status would make our case for moving to a double (due to occupancy, probably entailing a fairly significant category upgrade) somewhat more sympathetic.
