I know we had a lot of speculation about this late last year - nice to see it come to fruition! That said, can NRT really be called a hub anymore? The only non-hub flights it will have now is to ICN and HNL. Must imagine that the JV with NH is quite profitable.

I do agree that the main impact will be to those who are based in IAD, as the DEN, LAX, and IAH can make the relatively short hops to SFO without losing much time; the EWR and ORD folks can fly through HKG.

One question - doesn't UA have Fifth Freedom rights at NRT? What happens if they end up giving up all those routes - would they lose the ability to use NRT as a hub for intra-Asian flights?
