The mileage computation has nothing to do with going in the "wrong" direction (and might have nothing to do with using AS). SFO-SEA-YVR-NRT//HND-HKG-BKK is only about 350 miles longer than SFO-HND-BKK, so it's not going to be an MPM issue. But if JL's published SFO-BKK through-fare does not permit your particular routing, then your itinerary will require two awards. (For 12.5K additional miles, it sounds like you'll be in Economy for both the SFO-SEA and SEA-YVR legs.)
And switching from an all-oneworld to a mixed oneworld/non-oneworld itinerary does indeed trigger the $150 change fee.
Thanks
guv1976 I thought the agent was just making up info too. And yes, I'll be in Y for the SFO-SEA-YVR segments.
I'm not familiar with through-fare rules. But, I just looked at the Rules for JL between SFO-BKK. Here's what shown for the YVR segment.
It seems AS is allowed. So, I shouldn't have to pay two separate awards?
Am I reading it correctly?
