Totally forgot until I was looking for something else on their site - ATT offers prepaid internet access, you buy a block of minutes for as little as $10 and use them whenever you want, no monthly charges or anything. Good for a year. Details are at https://www.consumer.att.com/prepaid...net/index.html , the small print is below

$9.99 for up to 500 Internet Service Minutes or up to 125 Internet Service minutes with 800 number access. Telephone access to reach the Service (including, local, long distance or 800/888 facility charges) as well as other taxes and surcharges, may apply. Pay phone service providers may require another form of payment for local access calls. Internet Service usage and 800 number access time is based upon U.S. domestic calling and will be billed in one-minute increments, with partial minutes billed as one full minute. International rates will vary and may be higher than domestic rates and are subject to change at any time. CD's are not refundable or exchangeable unless defective. Expiration dates of the Software or Refill Card minutes may vary, but typically you will have at least a year from the date of purchase or from date of refill to use up your minutes. Check your packaging or if you have discarded your packaging, call customer service at 1-888-671-2391 to determine your specific expiration date.
