I listened to ATC (Seattle Center and the local tower) a couple days ago as Marine One transported the President out here to RDM, then he took off his in 757 (Air Force One), I believe to Seattle. Very interesting listening to all the other planes put in "holding" positions, or diverted to other airports. The security units (Huntsman One, for example, a surveillance helicopter) were also on the Tower frequency doing their thing. As Air Force One took off and contacted Seattle Center, I noticed they got whatever altitude, and whatever bearing they wanted. I've always wanted to hear Air Force One or some other important plane on UA's channel 9, when I'm up in the skies. Hasn't happened yet...
