Arriving on AA you should come in to the pier that has gates 12 - 18. After you clear in-transit security you should follow the signs for gates 31 - 36. Here, just outside the RCC is a farly large UA transfer desk where they can issue your boarding pass. Inside the RCC, to the right after the entrance is a desk with agents who can also check you in. I'd say the walk will take 7 ~ 12 minutes after you clear security.
