Not all the time, but can't explore page to see what is common when it happens. Started a couple of days ago. Still happening.
EDIT: To get things usable again I put the following DNS entries (all the domains accessed captured from a trace when things get stuck) into the local hosts file. Not a solution that I like, but it at least allows me to post this

If I get time to figure out which is the specific cause I'll let you know, but spending an hour to get to this point is already frustrating enough

Holy bad advice, just so everyone else knows - while it would, likely, work - this hosts file will quite literally break the internet. It'll prevent Google from loading.
